Ex MP Ichchha Raj Tamang held on charge of fraud, embezzlement

KATHMANDU: Former parliamentarian and chairman of Civil Bank, Ichchha Raj Tamang was arrested on Monday on the charge of fraud and embezzlement. 

A team of Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) apprehended Tamang, who was also a lawmaker from the CPN-UML, from Sundhara in the capital. 

Tamang has been charged with embezzling as much as Rs 460 million deposited in the erstwhile Civil Saving and Credit Cooperative Limited. 

Dhiraj Pratap Singh, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) at CIB said that Tamang was held after complaints from the depositors of frand and misappropriation of their funds.
