Rhinos, Gladiators share points as rain disrupts match

KATHMANDU: Pokhara Rhinos and Bhairahawa Gladiators shared a point each as heavy rainfall here in Kathmandu disrupted the match on Sunday afternoon.

Before the match was halted by the downpour, the Rhinos scored 65 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the 10.1 overs. Rhinos’ top order crumbled in such a way that three of the five batsmen were out without opening their accounts. Asela Gunaratne scored the highest 23 before he was run out in the eighth over. Bibek Yadav  (16)  and Kesrick Williams were at the crease as the match was called off.

Durgesh Gupta’s explosive three-wicket-haul with a maiden over placed the Gladiators in a strong position. Dhammika Prasad, Abinash Bohora and Tul Bahadur Thapa claimed a wicket each.

With this, Kathmandu Kings XI and Chitwan Tigers are leading the points table with a win each while Biratnagar Warriors and Lalitpur Patriots are lagging at the bottom of the table.
