Khadka appointed as Foreign Minister, to be sworn-in later this afternoon

KATHMANDU, September 22: Narayan Khadka has been appointed the Minister for Foreign Affairs on Wednesday. 

President Bidya Devi Bahandari appointed Khadka in the post of the Minister for Foreign Affairs as per Article 76 (9) of the Constitution on recommendation of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, according to the Office of President.   

Khadka is now scheduled to take an oath of office and secrecy later this afternoon and fly to New York on the same day.

According to Bhanu Deuba, secretary of PM Deuba, Khadka is scheduled to fly to New York at 8:30 PM today to attend the General Assembly of the United Nations Organization.
