After Prachanda, Upendra Yadav meets Madhav Nepal

KATHMANDU, July 20: CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda and Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Chair Upendra Yadav have held separate meetings with former prime minister and senior leader of the CPN-UML Madhav Kumar Nepal.

Prachanda was the first to reach the Koteshwor-based residence of leader Nepal. The two leaders held a meeting for an hour, according to the sources.

Shortly after Prachanda’s exit from Koteshwor, JSP Chair Yadav called on Nepal.

Prachanda and Yadav reportedly discussed expansion of the Sher Bahadur Deuba-led Cabinet with leader Nepal, who also leads a dissident faction in the UML.

Leaders’ series of meetings come at a time when PM Deuba is preparing to expand his five-member Cabinet as he won parliament’s confidence on July 18 [Sunday].
