Four go missing when jeep swept away

 

Rampur (Palpa) - Four people have gone missing when a rivulet swept away a jeep in Palpa district. 

The missing are Tilbir Gaha, 40 of Mathagadhi-1, his wife Maya Gaha, 35, Padam Kunwar, 40, of Baganaskali rural municipality and Usha Shrestha, 28, of Tansen Municipality, according to the District Police Office, Palpa. 

The incident took place when the jeep (Lu 1 Ja 1217) was swept away at 2:30 am today in course of crossing Tinau rivulet. 

Jeep driver, Shakti Basnet, has been rescued and search for the missing passengers and the jeep was underway. Police said that they have been facing problems to carry out search operation due to increasing flow of water in the rivulet. 

Meanwhile, landslide has taken place at different places of Palpa district following incessant rainfall for the past one week. 

Passengers have been hit hard due to obstruction of vehicular movement following the landslide.
