Sudur Paschim CM Bhatta taking trust vote today, UML to vote for trust motion

KATHMANDU, June 8: Chief Minister of Sudur Paschim Province, Trilochan Bhatta, is taking a vote of confidence from the province assembly on Tuesday. 

CM Bhatta tabled the confidence motion at the meeting that began a while ago as per Rule 143 (4) of Province Assembly Regulations-2017. 

The former ruling partner, CPN UML decided to vote for Bhatta in Tuesday’s trust vote. UML’s Standing Committee’s, however, had decided to withdraw its support extended earlier to CM Bhatta. UML’s Madhav Nepal faction holds a majority in Sudur Paschim Province Assembly.

The Nepali Congress, on the other hand, opted to remain neutral on condition of voting in favor of Bhatta in case UML lawmakers vote against him.
