8,000 plus corona patients recover taking recovery tally to 476,130

97,699 people yet to recover

KATHMANDU, June 4: 

As many as 81.9 percent of the total infected people have recovered from the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19). According to the Health Ministry, it means 476,130 people got over the virus including 8,653 on Friday. 

According  to the ministry’s updates, more than 580,000 people tested positive for the virus as of Friday afternoon. With 6,653 new infections [4,624 through the RT-PCR tests and 2,029 through antigen tests], Nepal’s total caseload has jumped to 581,560. It is to be noted that Nepal had detected the first case on January 23, 2020. 

Meanwhile, 101 more people died of the disease on Friday. The number of fatalities, since May 16, 2020, has reached 7,731, said the ministry. 

There are still 97,699 active cases of the disease while 755 others are staying at the quarantine facilities across the country.
