‘Humanitarian principles needed to end discrimination’


POKHARA, June 4: Chief of Gandaki Province Sita Kumari Poudel has said that humanitarian principles and behavioural changes were needed to end untouchability and discrimination in the society.

In a message of best wishes on the occasion of Caste-Based Discrimination and Untouchability Elimination Day today, Poudel said that implementation of laws is imperative for creating a cultured, just and equitable society by ending all kinds of caste-based discriminations and ill-practices. 

In her message, Poudel has also recalled that the Constitution of Nepal has ensured the right to equality and right against untouchability and racial discrimination.  

The Province Chief has urged all to unite to ensure a dignified life to every citizen.
