COVID-19: 5,904 people recover as 6,825 new COVID-19 cases reported

KATHMANDU, June 3: A total of 5,904 more people have recovered from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of people who have recovered from COVID-19 has reached 467,467 in the country. The recovery rate has now climbed to 81 per cent.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 6,825 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded across the nation during the same period. With this, the number of the COVID-19 infected people has reached 576,936.

Meanwhile, 75 people died of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, taking the death toll to 7,630. 

The latest COVID-19 cases were detected in 21,773 tests including 18,562 RT-PCR and 3,211 antigen tests held in various laboratories in the country in the past 24 hours. According to the Ministry, 3,106,938 RT-PCR tests have been done so far in the country.

The COVID-19 positivity rate stands at 18.6 percent while the case fatality rate is 1.6 percent and death per million is 261.9.

Meanwhile, the total number of active cases stands at 101,839 with 94,909  in home based isolation, 6,930 in institutional isolation and 1,444 in ICU while 398 are with ventilator support. Another 831 are in quarantine.

In Kathmandu valley, the number of active cases stands at 14,382, 6,040 and 4,174 in Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur districts respectively.
