COVID-19 in Nepal : 6,491 recoveries, 4,762 new cases  reported on Monday

KATHMANDU, May 31: As many as 6,491 more people recovered from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours as of Monday afternoon. With this, 447,446 people have recovered from the virus so far.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 4,762 new COVID-19 cases were recorded across the nation during the same period. With this, the number of the COVID-19 infected people has reached 561, 302.  Of them, 216,938 are women while 344,364 are male.

A total of 15,055 PCR tests were carried out and 2,425 antigen tests in the past 24 hours. Of them, 4,078 people tested positive in the course of carrying out 15,055 PCR tests while 584 people tested positive through antigen test. 

Meanwhile, 114 people succumbed to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. With this, the death toll due to corona virus has reached 7,386 in the country.

According to the Ministry, 3,057,424 PCR tests have been done so far. The total number of active cases stands at 106,470. Of them, 7,338 are in home based isolation, 1,492 in institutional isolation and 424 in ICU while 2,584 are with ventilator support. Another 689 are in quarantine.

The highest number of people infected with the virus is from the age group 31-40 years followed by the age group 21-30 years.
