Administration of second shot of Covishield vaccine resumes from today

KATHMANDU, May 26: Those who were vaccinated against the coronavirus in the first phase of vaccination drive priority before March 7, but did not second jab owing to vaccine crunch, are being inoculated from Wednesday

With the Health Office of Bagmati Province’s  Social Development Ministry, on Tuesday, deciding to continue the drive , the second dose will be administered to frontline workers including the health professionals, security personnel and sanitation staff. 

According to the Lalitpur-based Health Office, only security personnel will be vaccinated for the second dose on Wednesday while health workers, government employees, sanitation staff, media persons, staff at diplomatic missions, public enterprises and financial institutions are scheduled to receive the second shot of the Covishield vaccine on Thursday and Friday. 

One should visit the Jawalakhel-based Metropolitan Police Circle on Wednesday while the Health Office, Lalitpur has been designated as the vaccination center for Thursday onwards. 

One is required to produce the vaccine card, which s/he had received during the first shot, and an identity card for the second shot, according to the office.
