Nepal – Pakistan Friendship T-20 Cricket Tournament

kathmandu - For promotion of cricket and sports activities in Nepal, Nepal – Pakistan Friendship T-20 Cricket Tournament 2017 was organized by Embassy of Pakistan at its ground located at back side of Shankha Park, Pragati Tole, Ring Road Kathmandu, from 14 to 23 November 2017.

          A total of 12 x cricket clubs of Kathmandu including Pakistan Embassy Cricket Club, Naga Arjun Cricket Club, Tip Top Cricket Club, Dhapasai Cricket Club, Kathmandu Cricket Training Centre, Samey Cricket Club, Oasis Cricket Academy, Great Himalayan Cricket Academy, Lord Buddha Cricket Club, Baluwatar Cricket Club, Nepal Cricket School and Institute of Engineering Cricket Club participated in the tournament. The teams were divided in to four groups and winner of each group qualified for the semi finals. A total of fifteen matches were played which were supervised by a panel of international Umpires of Nepal and adjudicated as per international rules of T-20 Cricket format.       

          Final match of the tournament was played on 23 November 2017 between Institute of Engineering Cricket Club and Kathmandu Cricket Training Centre, which was won by Kathmandu Cricket Training Centre.

          Mr Mahesh Prasad Dahal, Secretary Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports was Chief Guest on the occasion of final of Nepal – Pakistan Friendship T-20 Cricket Tournament 2017 and awards presentation ceremony. Mr Himalaya SJB Rana, President Nepal – Pakistan Friendship Association and Ms Bhawana Ghmire graced the occasion as Special Guests of Honour.

          Chief Guest and Special Guests of Honour awarded trophies, medals and cash prizes to the winning and runner up teams. The winner of the tournament received a cash award of NRs. 40,000.00 and runner up team received a cash award of NRs. 25,000.00. Awards were also presented for individual performances which included Man of the Tournament, Best Batsman, Best Bowler, Man of the Match of final.
