COVID-19 in Nepal: 8,167 new cases, 187 more deaths reported

KATHMANDU, May 15: Nepal saw a total of 8,167 new cases of the coronavirus in the past 24 hours. Those cases were detected through the 17,971 RT-PCR tests and 577 antigen tests carried out at different labs across the country, the Health Ministry said. 

With this, the total number of infections counted in the country has reached 447,704, of which 333,108 have so far recovered from the disease. Nepal reported 5,488 more recoveries on Saturday. 

Meanwhile, Nepal confirmed 187 more fatalities which has taken the country’s overal death tally to 4,856. 

Ministry said that 109,740 patients are yet to recover from the infectious disease.
