President extends sorrow over demise of many lives in Dhading bus accident

Kathmandu - President Bidya Devi Bhandari has extended sorrow over the demise of many people in the bus plunge into the Trishuli River at Ghatbesi of Gajuri-6 in Dhading along the Prithvi Highway early this morning. 

The President, extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, wished for speedy recovery of the injured, the Office of the President said in a press statement today. 

President Bhandari has drawn the attention of authorities concerned towards finding out the status of those missing in the accident as soon as possible and thanked the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, Nepal Red Cross Society and the locals for their involvement in the rescue and search efforts. 

At least 30 people were killed and 15 were rescued alive following the plunge of a passenger bus (Na 6 Kha 1467) into the Trishuli River at around 5:00 am today. The bus was en route to Kathmandu from Rajbiraj, the district headquarters of Saptari.
