PM Oli inaugurates 'Pradesh Gaurab Village'


Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has inaugurated the 'Pradesh Gaurab Village' constructed for poor and indigenous community at Birtamod municipality in Jhapa district today.

A total of 37 houses have been constructed there. The houses were constructed on one bigha and three katthas of land donated by Dhanjuju Shrestha and Kamala Shrestha of Bhadrapur.  

The village was constructed at the investment of Rs 148 million of Province 1 government, Habitat Nepal and Sahara Nepal.  

On the occasion, Prime Minister Oli assured that the government would provide support in construction of thatched roof-free houses, saying no one should be homeless in the country.  

Similarly, Mayor of Bhadrapur Municipality, Dhurba Kumar Shibakoti, shared that the families of poor Kurmi and Santhal community have been living in the village. 

He said that 306 houses have been constructed in the municipality so far and handed over to poor communities.  Two hundred six houses are under construction as per the plan of constructing 500 houses in the current fiscal year, he added.
