Indian arrested with banned currency notes

Kathmandu - Police here have apprehended an Indian national in possession of 199 thousand Indian currency notes. A team mobilized from the temporary police post at Materuwa, Islampur of Biratnagar Metropolitan City-17 arrested 56-year-old Mahesh Chandra of West Delhi, India. Chandra was held during police checking while coming towards Nepal from India on Friday evening. Police confiscated 390 notes of Rs 500 denomination and two notes of Rs 2,000 denomination from Chandra. Further investigation was on in this connection, according to police.
