Qatar Airways and Rolls-Royce Host Successful Training Programme

DOHA, Qatar - Qatar Airways and Rolls-Royce Host Successful Training Programme Qatar Airways’ Al Darb Qatarisation Programme develops young talent to become the leaders of the future 1 October 2017 DOHA, Qatar – Qatar Airways and Rolls-Royce, one of the airline’s major strategic partners, hosted a successful training programme on Sunday as part of the award-winning airline’s Al Darb Qatarisation programme, an initiative that develops young talent to become the future leaders of the national carrier.

 During the interactive workshop, which took place at the Oryx Rotana Hotel in Doha, the group explored various engineering activities that take place at aero-engine manufacturer Rolls-Royce and looked at how the company’s latest engine technologies are generating maximum value and lower operating costs. The workshop, which was delivered by Rolls-Royce professionals, was attended by National employees as well as a wider group of pilots, engineers, graduate developees and their coaches. The session also looked ahead at the exciting opportunities for the future development of engine technology, including the availability of new materials, digital technologies, data and analytics.

Qatar Airways Senior Vice President Human Resources, Ms. Nabeela Fakhri, said, “We are delighted with our ongoing strong strategic partnership with Rolls-Royce. It was particularly important to host this event in Doha, which enabled us to engage with a wide audience of graduates and share with them the insights from one of our leading engineers. “We greatly appreciate the ongoing collaboration and the two-way learning that stems from such events and look forward to continuing our support for the Al Darb programme and the wider achievement of the Qatar National Vision.”

Now in its fifth year, Al Darb Qatarisation programme presents young nationals with local and international career opportunities through eight different programmes and 35 different majors across the airline’s various departments.

The tailor-made programme supports, develops and nurtures young talent and equips them with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in their field of choice in the airline.

 An Arabic word that means ‘The Pathway’, Al Darb highlights the different career paths that individuals can take with Qatar Airways. Through initiatives such as its Summer Internship Programme and Graduate Developee programme, Al Darb provides graduates with real-life projects in numerous locations across the globe that add to their work experience and prepares them for a successful career at Qatar Airways.
