Bagmati River Cleaning Mega Campaign goes on despite COVID-19 crisis

Kathmandu - The campaign of cleaning up the rivers and places around the Ring Road continues in the federal capital in spite of the spike in coronavirus cases. Volunteers and people from various walks of life are engaged in this campaign by adopting health safety measures and social distancing.

In this connection, former Chief Secretary and ambassador to China, Leelamani Poudyal, today led a cleaning drive in the Bagmati River at Buddhanagar of Sankhamul area today. Poudyal was the architect of the Bagmati Cleaning Mega Campaign seven years back.

Campaign supporters, locals and members of the Hanuman Marga Community Reform Committee and local organisations as Jeevan Bigyan participated in cleaning up the river at Buddhanagar. Similarly, social campaigner and member of High Powered Bagmati Civilization Integrated Development Committee, Mala Kharel, led the river cleaning in and around the Pashupati area.

Similarly, the river was cleaned on the right and left of the Gothataar Bridge. The river was also cleaned on the Tilaganga sector. Likewise, the tributaries of the Bagmati River as Rudramati, Bishnumati, Godawarikhola and Hanumante were also cleaned at various of their stretches today.
