Quarantines getting empty in Saptari

Kathmandu - Temporary quarantines and isolation centres established for accommodating persons suspected of COVID-19 and those testing positive for the infection are gradually becoming empty in the district.

These centres are being vacant after infected persons returned home after a complete health recovery of late.

However, the number of people staying in home quarantines is on rise. The number of staying in quarantines has dropped to 306 in the district.

There are 3,800 beds in 86 quarantine centres in nine municipalities and nine rural municipalities in the district. With this, 47 quarantines have turned empty and in 39 quarantines have very few persons.

According to sources, only 1 to 5 persons are staying in each quarantine. A total of 4,751 people who were straying at different quarantines returned home after their lab tested negative for COVID-19
