17 more infected in Gandaki

Kathmandu - The total number of people infected with Corona Virus has reached 75 in Gandaki State. The tally reached 75, after 17 new cases were confirmed this morning in Kaski, Syangja, Baglung and Nawalparasi, according to State Health Directorate.

News cases were confirmed in Rupa rural municipality, Pokhara sub-metropolis in Kaski, Waling municipality and Harinas rural municipality in Syangja, Tara Khola rural municipality in Baglung and Triveni rural municipality of Nawalparasi.

The confirmation was made following a PCR test at the Pokhara Institute of Health Sciences. The infected are being taken to the isolation centres in the concerned district, said Director of the Health Directorate Dr Binod Bindu Sharma. Three of the infected in the State have returned following recovery. The State has so far collected 4,687 samples for PCR tests of which 3,877 tested negative. The result of 754 is awaited.
