156 new COVID-19 cases reported today, 187 recover

Kathmandu - Nepal’s COVID-19 tally has reached 1,042 with 156 news cases confirmed today. According to Ministry of Health and Population, the COVID-19 test conducted on various labs across the 16 districts has reported 156 new cases, the highest in a single day so far. Ministry’s Spokesperson Dr Bikash Devkota in today’s regular press conference shared that so far 187 COVID-19 infected persons recovered from the infection and returned home.

The COVID-19 cases have been reported in 51 of the total 77 districts in the country. Among the total 1,042 persons contracting the flu-like infection, 940 are male and 102 female, informed Dr Devkota. Solukhumbu and Dolakha district saw their first COVID-19 case today, according to Devkota. Furthermore, he said that so far 60,696 persons were tested for COVID-19 under the PCR procedure while 102,034 person were tested under the RDT procedure. Currently, 46,975 persons suspected to have contracted COVID-19 are quarantined in various quarantine facilities across the country while 850 are in isolation.
