Number of COVID-19 infected people reaches 20 in Sudurpaschim State

Kathmandu - Three more individuals have tested positive for coronavirus in Sudurpaschim State. The coronavirus was confirmed on three more individuals in course of test carried out at Dhangadhi-based laboratory on Wednesday. With this, the number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 20 in Sudurpaschim State, shared Social Development Minister in the State, Krishna Raj Subedi. Of the new infected ones, two are from Kailali and one from Darchula district.

Those from Kailali district had been staying at quarantine of Saraswoti Secondary School in Janaki Rural Municipality after returning from India. Of the three new infected ones, arrangement has been made for the treatment of two persons at Tikapur and one at Darchula Hospital, added Minister Subedi. Five COVID-19 infected peoples have returned home after recovery. Local levels have been carrying out search for those, who came in contact with infected person with help of police after number of infected people started increasing.

“Test of those who came in contact of the infected people is being carried out”, said Health Section Coordinator at Janaki Rural Municipality, Jit Bahadur Chaudhary. High alertness has been maintained at Tikapur, Joshipur, Lamki Chuha which have bordered Janaki Rural Municipality. Tikapur Municipality Mayor, Tapendra Rawal, said that more than 600 people were in quarantine in the Municipality.
