Pregnant woman in home quarantine dies

Kathmandu - A 24-year-old pregnant woman of Kanchanroop Municipality-11 in Saptari district died today in a home quarantine. According to her family source, she died this morning as preparations were on to take her to Rajbiraj for treatment after she suffered from high fever and respiratory problem from Sunday night.

She was taken to a clinic of Dr Binita Yadav in Rajbiraj after suffering from high fever on Thursday and she was asked to visit the clinic in five days. Officiating Chief at the District Health Office, Saptari, Duniya Lal Yadav, said that doctor had given medicines saying she was suffering from urine infection and advised her to stay in home quarantine.

The woman with 18 weeks’ pregnancy was suffering from fever for the past 10 days. Senior health worker at health section of Kanchanroop Municipality, Dambar Mahato, shared that preparations are ongoing to collect swab samples of the deceased woman for coronavirus test as the symptoms she had developed were similar to coronavirus.
