No new case of COVID-19: Health Ministry

Kathmandu - The Ministry of Health and Population has stated that no new case of COVID-19 infection has reported on Friday and the health condition of infected ones was also normal. At a regular media briefing at the Ministry, Ministry spokesperson Dr Bikas Devkota said a total of 3,524 samples have been tested so far while 8,660 are in quarantine and 125 in isolation wards in the country.

He added that 630 people were tested for COVID-19 and all negative in the past 24 hours. Spokesperson Devkota further shared that 5,000 rapid test kits were sent in each State to intensify the tests. Meanwhile, health persons in Baglung, Myagdi and Parbat districts were imparted training on rapid diagnostic test and they have begun testing from today.

The Ministry has urged the retired doctors to voluntarily join the service in this pandemic. He also said that the medical students studying in government scholarship will also be called for service at this hour of need. Dr Devkota further informed that the Ministry had made no decision to deduct the salaries of doctors and health workers in this critical hour.
