State 2 further tightens border security

Kathmandu - The State 2 police has decided to further tighten the Nepal-India border points in view of the increased risk of COVID-19. s said by the State 2 police office, 5,730 security personnel have been deputed along the 106 border points in eight districts. It may be noted that the entire Nepal-India checkpoints have been sealed with the enforcement of lockdown in its bid to stem the spread of coronavirus. India has also implemented lockdown in the aftermath of the spread of coronavirus there.

The State police decided to ramp up border security as the trend of crossing the border illegally continues during lockdown, said office information officer Tilak Sunar. So far 46 Indians found sneaking into Nepal have remained in quarantine. It has been reported that lockdown has been effectively implemented in all eight districts in the state. The state has managed 176 beds in 14 hospitals to treat Corona patients and 162 isolation beds in 17 hospitals and built 11 quarantine centers.
