Chaukune Rural Municipality seals all entry points

Kathmandu - As fears of COVID-19 spread grows, the Chaukune Rural Municipality in Surkhet district has sealed off its border points sharing with Kailali district. The rural municipality took this decision after deadly coronavirus infected cases were found in Kailali district, the officials said.

According to the rural municipality chair, Dhir Bahadur Shahi, people’s movement from 10 suspension bridges and Bheri bridge has been suspended from today. Similarly, the rural municipality has also prevented people from boating and swimming in the Karnali River. The rural municipality shares the borders with Achham, Kailali and Doti districts and the all border points have been sealed off, Shahi added.

Likewise, the locals are asked not to cross their ward borders in view of possible outbreak of the COVID-19. It is said that each ward has formed a10-member monitoring committee to monitor the people’s mobility.
