Tanahu administration restricts inter-district travel

Kathmandu - The District Administration Office, Tanahu has stopped the entry of vehicles from one district to the other. Chief District Officer Badri Nath Adhikari said the district administration has also tightened on issuing special passes with the surge in the number of people taking passes for operating vehicles and the flouting of lockdown orders increasing in the district. As of Wednesday, 622 people have taken passes in Tanahu for operating vehicles. The administration however, stated that it has allowed vehicles carrying sick people, employees, foodstuffs and vegetables, and ambulances to operate without any hindrance.

Meantime, although the number of foreign-returnees was increasing in Tanahu, the number of people staying in quarantine has not been found increasing in equal proportion. All the 10 local levels in the district have set up quarantine and isolation facilities. There are four municipalities and six rural municipalities in Tanahu district. As per the records made available by these local levels, 687 people have returned to their homes from various foreign countries so far. Meanwhile, the Byas Municipality Ward Number 1 is to distribute foodstuffs to 100 needy people in the ward.
