CM Gurung sees need of collective efforts to fight against COVID-19

Kathmandu - Gandaki State Chief Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung has highlighted the need of combined efforts in the prevention, containment and treatment of COVID-19 pandemic. In his best wishes on the occasion of Chaite Dashain today, the Chief Minister called on the entire citizen to contribute unitedly in the efforts against the prevention and control of the virus when the whole world has been adversely affected by its pandemic. ''Religious and cultural festivals are meant for keeping social unity, harmony, goodwill and religious tolerance intact,'' he said in the message, adding that such festivals had helped promote the national unity. ''The nation enriched by multi-cultural, multi-linguistic, multi-religious, and geographic diversities is constitutionally a secular country and a democratic republic federal system, secularism and social justice, the characteristics of the existing form of governance were achieved after the people's long long struggle and have been protected by the constitution,'' the message further adds.
