Congress will continue its effort to secure rights of Madhesi people: KC

Saptari - Nepali Congress leader Arjun Narsingh KC said his party has been fighting for the rights and identity of Madhes and the Madhesi people since 2007 BS and will continue to do so in future.

Speaking at a programme organized by Nepali Congress Town Committee, Rajbiraj on Thursday evening, leader KC claimed that Congress has never discriminated against any communities, classes and ethnic groups, and has always behaved equally.

Blaming the CPN (UML) for preventing the passage of the amendment bill in the Parliament, leader KC made it clear that NC would renew its bid for amendment to secure the rights of Madhesi people if it gains majority again.

He argued that the Madhesi parties – claiming to be the savior of Madhes – were entangled in the lust for power and internal conflict. He appealed to the Madhesi people to vote for making NC's candidates win in the local level elections to be held in Province no 2.

KC stressed further that NC has a clear plan for Saptari's trade development and socio-economic progress.

He also noted that the NC – led government was seriously working to resolve the problems of the flood – stricken in Saptari.
