ACC Eastern Region T20: Nepal thrashes hosts Thailand by nine wickets

Kathmandu–Nepal beat hosts Thailand by nine wickets in its third match under the 2020 ACC Eastern Region T20 tournament in Thailand.

With this win, Nepal got two points from three matches and is dependent on scores of its competitors to qualify for the 2020 Asia Cup.

If Hong Kong beat Singapore in a match scheduled for today, Nepal's possibility to qualify for the Asia Cup remains. In earlier matches, Nepal lost to Malaysia by 22 runs and to Hong Kong by 43 runs.

Elected into bat after winning the toss, Thailand posted a meager 67 runs target which Nepal achieved it in 5.3 overs at the loss of one wicket.

For Nepal, opener Kushal Malla remained unbeaten on 36 runs and Pawan Sarraf on 27. Similarly, Paras Khadka contributed nine runs.

Thailand's Nopphon Senamontree took one wicket against Nepal. Thailand made 66 runs in allotted 20 overs at the loss of all wickets. For Thailand, Henno Jorddan and Phiriyapong Suanchuai hit 13 runs each. Similarly, Naveed Pathan made eight and Ziaul Hoque five.

Nepal's Karan KC took three wickets, Abhinash Bohara two, Bhuvan Karki and Sandeep Lamichhane one each. Nepal is taking on Singapore in its final match on Friday.
