PM Oli to undergo renal transplant today

Kathmandu–Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is undergoing renal transplant at the TU Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj today. The transplant is scheduled to start at 9:00 am and will be carried out by a team led by Dr Prem Raj Gyawali. All preparations for the transplant have been completed.

Prime Minister Oli was admitted to the hospital in preparation for the transplant on Monday evening. Provided normal condition, the Prime Minister will be discharged from hospital within a week.

The Prime Minister's morale is high while the entire nation looks forward to his successful transplant and speedy recovery, said the PM's press advisor Surya Thapa. Samikchya Koirala, the PM's niece is donating one of her kidneys to the Prime Minister.

This will be the second renal transplant for Prime Minister Oli. He had undergone a renal transplant 12 years ago in Apollo Hospital of India.
