Home Secretary urges police to ensure foolproof peace, security

Kathmandu–Home Secretary Maheshwor Neupane has directed the chiefs of security bodies under the Home Ministry to make law and order situation in the districts smooth.

Addressing the chiefs of all the seven state police offices by video conference today from the command centre of the Police Headquarters, Home secretary Neupane asked them to ensure foolproof security to the people by making peace and security of all seven states efficient.

Soon after addressing the chiefs, he also directed the police officials and police persons present at Police Headquarters not to make any compromise in the activity to maintain law and order in the country.

The Home Secretary urged the police organisation to remain active to control terrorism, violent activities and crime. Saying behavior of police persons towards citizens and their reaction would present the image of the government, he stated, "It is necessary to make different things like our behavior, working style and addressing service recipients more disciplined, civilized and cultured."

There would be necessary support of the Ministry to maintain peace and security, added Neupane. Similarly, Inspector General of Police, Thakur Prasad Gyawali, said that police institution was committed to execute policy, action plan and directions received from Government of Nepal and the Home Ministry. He added that the police institution is committed to establish itself as a best organisation.
