Congress to become number one party: PM Deuba

Mahottari - Nepali Congress President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the Nepali Congress would become the number one party in the local level elections. 

Speaking at an election gathering held at Bardibas of Mahottari on Wednesday, Prime Minister Deuba claimed that the voters in Tarai Madhesh would choose the Congress in the third phase of local level elections being held on September 18. 

Stating that India was committed to resolve the problems of inundation and floods in the Tarai, he expressed the confidence that the postal highway would make the Tarai prosperous. "The dam on the Sunkoshi river will end the problem of power and water in the region," he said. 

The Prime Minister also accused UML of trying to divide the Nepalis who are living together harmoniously. 'The nationalism propagated by the UML has put the country into a danger.' 

NC General Secretary Shashank Koirala, leaders Bimalendra Nidhi and Krishna Prasad Sitoula, Ram Sharan Mahat, Balkrishna Khand and Gagan Thapa appealed to the voters to vote for the Congress so as to empower the Madhesi people and make the nation prosperous.
