Inaruwa–Biratnagar has won the title of second edition of Girija Prasad Koirala Memorial Gold Cup Football Championship. Bindabasini Football Club Biratnagar defeated Birgunj United Bara 1-0 to clinch the title in the championship held here on Wednesday. Inaruwa municipality and Pratibimba Nepal jointly organized the championship.
Bindabasini Football Club's striker Samat made a decisive goal to register the win in the final. Samat netted the goal in 28th minutes of second half.
Besides title, Biratnagar has bagged a shield and cash prize of Rs 200,000. Likewise, first-runner-up Bara has received cash prize of Rs 100,000.
Eight football teams had participated in the championship.
