Indian national arrested for robbing foreign employment aspirants

Kathmandu - The police have arrested an Indian national on the charge of robbing two foreign employment aspirants of more than Rs 2 million through false foreign job promises. 

Suraj Lal Joshi, who hails from Deharadun in India, and was currently living in Kathmandu, has been accused of fleecing the foreign job aspirant Basanta Basnet and Kamal Oli with approximately Rs 2.2 million. 

Joshi had promised the two victims good jobs in Moscow in Russia. Both of them are from Dang. An assistant of Joshi acting on the direction of Joshi had received the two victims in New Delhi last year, and taken them to the border of Hungary through Ukraine only to leave them stranded there. 

They had managed to rescue themselves and return to Nepal after six months, and filed a complaint against Joshi. A team from Kathmandu Metropolitan Crime Division arrested Joshi from Teku on Monday, and investigation were on into the matter, the police said.
