Prime Ministers of Nepal, India jointly inaugurate Integrated Customs Check Post

Kathmandu–Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi today jointly inaugurated the Biratnagar-based Integrated Customs Check Post through a video conference.

Prime Minister Oli from Singha Durbar and Indian Prime Minister Modi from New Delhi inaugurated the check post at the same time. The Indian government handed over the check post to the government of Nepal today upon its completion.

The point is stretched in 129 bigha of land at Buddhanagar, which is located at the east of Biratnagar Customs Office. The government of Nepal and government of India had agreed to construct the Customs Office in 2006 but the task was started in 2016.

Now, all the customs clearance tasks of the Biratnagar Customs Office would be held from the integrated checkpoint, which will automatically lessen the traffic congestion around Jogbani area.
