Bharatpur–A scooter knocked down a pedestrian at Bharatpur Metropolis-5, Pancharatna Chowk on Thursday evening. The deceased has been identified as a male, aged around 45, said the Chitwan District Police Office.
According to the police, the scooter (Na 36 Pa 9324) en route to Mangalpur from Bharatpur had knocked the pedestrian. Critically injured pedestrian died while undergoing treatment at Chitwan Medical College. He is yet to be identified.
The scooter rider was also injured in the accident. The injured is identified as Janak Kandel, 22, of Gaindakot municipality-10, Bhendabari. He is being treated at Bharatpur Hospital. He ais also in critical condition, police said.
