Bhaktapur–An elderly woman died on the spot in a road accident at Madhyapurthimi municipality-4 of Bhaktapur district.
The deceased has been identified as Laxmi Devi Bhattarai, 76, of Likhu rural municipality-6, currently living at Madhyapurthimi municipality-4, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police at Metropolitan Police Range, Bhaktapur, rewati Raman Pokharel.
The accident took place when a jeep (Ba 14 Cha 1686) heading towards Kathmandu from Bhaktapur hit Bhattarai at a time when she was cross road from zebra-crossing.
Jeep driver Binod Ghimire, 24 of Bethanchowk rural municipality-3 of Kavre, who had been absconding after the accident, surrendered himself at Police Circle, Madhyapurthimi and investigation into the case was underway, said police.
