Russian PM to visit Cuba

HAVANA– Russian Prime Minister Dmitri Medvedev will pay a visit to Cuba and meet with top Cuban officials from Thursday to Friday, the Cuba's Foreign Affairs Ministry said on Monday.

The topics will include cooperation in trade, economy, energy, culture and other sectors. Medvedev previously visited Cuba in February 2013, when he and then Cuban President Raul Castro signed a dozen bilateral agreements in social, scientific, technological and cultural fields.

Bilateral trade is expected to reach 500 million U.S. dollars by the end of this year, said Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov earlier last month. In mid-September, the two nations signed in Moscow several cooperation agreements in energy and transport, among other sectors.
