Bardiya district in-charge and student leader of Biplab group arrested

Bardiya–The district in-charge of the Netra Bikram Chand 'Biplab' group, Meena Chalaune and the district president of All Nepal National Independent Students Union (Revolutionary), ANNISU (R), Lokendra Joshi have been arrested from Bardiya. 

The government has banned the Communist Party Nepal led by Biplab after the group was found involved in extortion activities, arson attacks and carrying out bomb explosions targeting infrastructures. ANNISU (R) is the student organization close to the Biplab-led group.

Police arrested them at 6 pm on Thursday when they were returning after conducting the organization expansion campaign at various schools in the district, Superintendent of Police Rajesh Nath Bastola of the District Police Office said.

Joshi and Chalaune have been arrested on the suspicion of their involvement in various incidents that have been occurred in the district and further investigation is underway in this connection, police said.
