'Agnidahan' a film on witchcraft practices to hit the screens in Pokhara

Kathmandu - A film carrying a mission of social education, 'Agnidahan' is set to hit the screens in Pokhara before the onset of the Bada Dashain festival. 

The movie was produced with an aim to spread awareness on false notion of witchcraft practices, according Kovid Sharan Upadhaya, the mastermind behind the movie. 

The movie – produced by the National Awareness Academy Nepal on Witchcraft – will be screened in Pokhara. The movie is based on real – life stories on witchcraft and imparts a message that there are no such things as witches in the society. 

President Bidya Devi Bhandari had launched the movie on Sept 1 at the Shital Niwas. The movie features roles from Prakash Ghimire, Anupama Bhandari, Pramila Tulachan, Tulasi Chhetri, Durga Neupane and Bishnu Bastola. The movie directed by Dhan Shyam Lamichane and written by Lokmani Poudel was shot in Makawanpur, Chitwan, Pokhara and Kathmandu. 

The movie produced at a cost of Rs 8 million will also be made in Maithali and Bhojpuri languages.
