Nepal participating first time in Asian Youth Women Handball Championship

Kaski–A team left here for Jaipur of India to play the eighth Asian Youth Women Handball Championship 2019. The event is scheduled to kick off from coming Wednesday in Jaipur.

The 20-member team comprising 16 players from 15-18 age group is captained by Monica Thapa. Ten countries are competing for the title.

Nepal is participating in the event first time in its history. Nepal will meet China on August 21, India on August 22, Kazakhstan on August 23 and Magnolia on August 24 team manager Shanti Thapa said.

The squad was given farewell amidst a programme on Sunday. The programme was organised by the Nepal Handball Association.

On the occasion, Gandaki State minister for social development Naradevi Pun, State Assembly member and Association central vice chair Mohan Regmi, Association chair Tej Bahadur Gurung and former chair Sher Bahadur Gurung wished for the success of the team.
