Parliamentary committee postpones schedule to pass bill

Kathmandu–A meeting of the Industry and Commerce: and Labour and Consumers Welfare Committee, House of Representatives scheduled for today was put off.

The meeting was summoned as it sought to complete discussions on the Industrial Enterprise Bill -2075 BS and endorse it. But the Committee failed to implement the schedule due to absence of the line minister.

As said by Committee secretary Krishnahari Khadka, Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supply Matrika Prasad Yadav could not be present in the meeting as he is currently outside the Kathmandu Valley.

Seventeen lawmakers including Gagan Kumar Thapa, Prem Suwal, and Min Bahadur Bishwakarma have registered 59 amendment proposals in regard with the bill which is said to be for creating a good investment-friendly atmosphere at home .
