Ranke-Phidim road obstructed by landslide
Panchthar–A landslide at Pangerbhir of Phalgunanda rural municipality-3 has obstructed Ranke-Phidim road under the Mechi Highway, halting traffic.
The disaster caused by rains took place on Wednesday night. Hundreds of vehicles travelling between Taplejung, Panchthar and Jhapa have been stuck midway stranding passengers.
Efforts are on to clear debris, and it may take the whole day today for traffic to resume, said Janak Timsina, chief of the district traffic police office.
