Nepal defeat Malaysia to record historic win in T20I

Kathmandu–Nepal enjoyed a historic win against Malaysia in the second match held today under the two-match T20 International Cricket Series. In the match held at Kuala Lumpur-based Kinrara Oval Cricket Stadium, Nepal defeated the competitor by six runs.

It has so far played two matches with Malaysia and clinched a win in both. In the previous match, it won the match against Malaysia by seven wickets and it recorded the ever first 'clean sweep' in the T20I series.

In today's match, Nepal, elected to bat first after winning the toss, posted a target of 174 runs and in reply, the competitor was limited to 167 runs in scheduled 20 overs at the loss of seven wickets.

Malaysia's Syed Aziz contributed the highest 50 runs to the team while Aminuddin Ramli and Virandeep Singh were out with 24 and 23 runs respectively to their credit. Muhamad Syahadat scored 21 runs, Ahmad Faiz 17, Shafiq Sharif 10 and Anwar Arudin seven runs.

Towards bowling, Nepal's Sompal Kami and Sandeep Lamichhane took two wickets each while Karan KC, captain Paras Khadka and Abinash Bohara took one wicket each.

Prior to this, while batting, Nepal had made a score of 173 runs in 20 overs at the loss of six wickets. Binod Bhandari hit a half-century with undefeated 51 runs.

Sharad Veswakar scored 40 runs, Captain Khadka 23 runs, Rohit Kumar Poudel 19 runs, Karan KC 16 runs and Pawan Sharaff contributed 10 runs to the team.
