Five including school principal face police case in student's death

Bhimduttanagar–Parents of a child who was beaten to death alleged by his school teachers has filed a police case against five people.

Madhav Kalauni of Mahakali, ninth grader at Mahakali School at Bhimdutta municipality-17 in Kanchanpur district, was injured after teachers allegedly thrashed him on June 28.

He died on Tuesday at Bhojipura Hospital, India, said the District Police Office, Kanchanpur. Guardians of the victim have filed a murder case with the police against the five people including the school principal and school management committee chair, said the police office.

Those facing the charge are school principal Yashoda Joshi, management committee chair Niranjan Prasad Bohara and teachers Laxman Bhatta, Durga Dutta Pathak and Harka Jagri.

Following the registration of the case, police are working to gather the evidences, according to Inspector Krishna Nanda Bhatta.

It is said the police are investigating the case meticulously by apprehending all the five accused people. "Investigations into the case are going on through several angles," Inspector Bhatta added.
