Govt stringent against elements fomenting social discord, instability: Home Minister Thapa

Chitwan–Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa has said police persons need to conduct rigorous investigation and shrewd analyses of the elements which are against social security and harmony because the country was undergoing state restructuring process.

At the function organized on the training completion of assistant sub inspectors of police here today, Home Minister Thapa assured that the government would not leave any stone unturned for the serious investigation on the criminal and secessionist groups to tame their activities.

He urged the new recruits to take responsibility honestly, thereby ensuring justice to the victims. Stating that 'prosperous Nepal, happy Nepali' was the destination of the hour, he directed people concerned to show honesty, impartiality, professional competency and skills to overcame challenges in the professional life.

As he said, he felt pain when he heard about inhuman treatments against women, Dalits and marginalised community in the society and the role of police was vital to discourage such cruel acts and ensure justice to victims.

"I direct the Nepal police to be mobilized with the commitments not to granting impunity in such inhuman treatment." Inspector General of Police, Sarbendra Khanal, said influence and temptation would spoil professional life and one should be aware of it.

On the occasion, National Police Academy, Maharahgunj Executive Director Pushkar Karki directed the recruits to contribute to take the organizational image and prestige to a new height.

School Director Hari Bhakta Prajapati informed that 305 recruits including 21 women were joining duty following the graduation.

So far, 1,829 Assistant Sub Inspectors have been graduated from the school. On the occasion, trainees and trainers giving their outstanding performance on different genres were felicitated.
